Change the colours you see

You can change the colours you see on the web to something that's easier on the eye.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. From the Tools or cog wheel menu, select Internet Options.
  3. From the Internet Options window, click the Accessibility button.
  4. From the Accessibility window, tick the box Ignore colors specified on webpages.
  5. Click OK to save your changes and close the Accessibility window.
  6. From the Internet Options window, click the Colors button.
  7. From the Colors window, choose the colours you want to see when you browse the web.
  8. When you are happy with your choice of colours, click OK to save your preferences.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. From the Firefox or Tools menu, select Options.
  3. From the Options window, click the Content tab.
  4. Again from the Options window, click the Colours… button.
  5. From the Colours window, choose the colours you want to see when you browse the web.
  6. Untick the box Allow pages to choose their own colours, instead of my selections above.
  7. When you are happy with your choice of colours, click OK to save your preferences.
